Camber Holiday Cottages

How to get here

By car

You should receive an information sheet, detailing the exact postcode for each house (although some of the placings are a little out!) for those sat nav users!

JUNCTION 5 OFF THE M25.  Head for the A21 towards Hastings.  Stay on A21 – continue until Flimwell (thorugh Lamberhurst).  At the traffic lights on the A21 you want to turn left onto the A268 towards Hawkhurst.  Continue through Hawkhurst, Sandhurst and then  Newenden, after the Old Mill on left take the next left to Rye (7 miles – still the A268).

Follow road through Peasmarsh, Rye Foreign, down a hill into Rye and you will reach a roundabout (with Skinners garage on right).  Turn left at roundabout towards Camber/Folkestone A259.  Go over bridge, follow till the road bends slightly left, there is a turning right signed to Camber and Lydd.  TURN RIGHT.

This is the coastal road, lots of sheep.   Go past the Rye Golf Club, once you hit the ‘Camber’ sign there is a lane to the left (field with donkeys), TURN LEFT into Farm Lane which is unadopted, and prone to bumps after heavy weather. At the end of Lane there on the right is Camber Farmhouse and the Barn.

By Train

The new high speed train from St Pancras to Folkestone has revolutionised train travel to Camber!  It is only 35 minutes to Ashford from St Pancras and then you can either take a taxi (30 mins) or change trains to the Rye train (approx 20 minutes) – check out train times and connections with www.thetrainline.com  Alternatively trains run from Charing Cross and takes 1 hour 20 to Ashford changing for Rye.   Taxi’s are then available from the station to Camber (7 minutes), or you can cycle!

TAXI HIRE:  Nick @ Taxi-Time:  01797 224016 (luxury eight seater available if you want a night out during your stay!)

Airports

The easiest airport is Gatwick – from Gatwick Airport you go to either Brighton, Eastbourne or Lewes and change to Rye.  It is approximately 2 hours – do take a look at the above link for train travel.  You can hire cars at all major airports.  From Heathrow Airport, it is suggested to catch the tube on the Picadilly line into Central London to St Pancras and then train to Ashford.
