Along time ago (and yes I remember), Camber had its own police station – it has long since gone and has now been restored to create a perfect beach house, directly opposite the dunes, just minutes from the beach. Converted by an eco enthusiast it boasts five different heat sources, with a natural heat pump, solar panels, immersion and hyper insulation, it permanently gives back to the grid. Now under new ownership, they have made vast improvements, landscaping the garden – designed by Gold Medal winner, Jo Thompson, it now has a flora and fauna to compliment its native environment – herb beds and fire pit with a new trampoline (with net) to keep the children amused for hours. There is a separate games room in the garden for ping pong and a reading room (with full bookcase) beautifully insulated it is a perfect place to retreat for a quiet read! Modern garden furniture sits under the green oak pergola, a lean to has been adapted to make a covered all-weather outdoor children’s play area.

Coming inside there is a large glass entrance hall, a great place to dry off dogs, kick off clothes and leave sleeping tots in buggies before entering into the open living space – a well equipped kitchen, with Tassimo coffee machine, dining and playroom with a smart TV, Netflix and DVD, with shelves of toys and books for children, large french doors allow access to the stunning garden. A large sitting room to the left of the front door has a big log burner (all logs supplied), large TV with freeview and a mountain of board games and puzzles to entertain you. Underfloor heating and oak floor boards throughout the ground floor make for a warm and relaxed feel. From the sitting room and kitchen is a light corridor to a king size bedroom, next to a light and well appointed shower room. A utility room at the back of the property has both a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Upstairs, there are three bedrooms – a superking bedroom with balcony overlooking the garden, one twin room (3ft beds) and one bunk room (3ft beds) upstairs with a bathroom with great shower attachment – wooden floors throughout. The eco credentials boast an incredibly well insulated roof, each bedroom has electric heaters but not generally needed!

The house is light and airy with a relaxed feel for beachside living. A real bucket and spade property ideal for guests with children, its simple, its easy – its ideal, ticking all those boxes for a family getaway.
