The Recycled House

A long time ago, Camber had its own police station. It has long since gone and has now been restored to create a perfect beach house, directly opposite the dunes. The Recycled House in Camber was converted by an eco enthusiast it boasts five different heat sources, with a natural heat pump, solar panels, immersion and hyper insulation, it permanently gives back to the grid.

The house is light and airy with a relaxed feel for beachside living. A real bucket and spade property ideal for guests with children, it’s simple, it’s easy – it’s ideal, ticking all those boxes for a family getaway.

Inside the property

You will first arrive at the large glass entrance hall, a great place to dry off dogs, kick-off clothes and leave buckets and spades before entering into the open living space.

Here you will find a well-equipped kitchen, dining and snug room. The kitchen has a large fridge freezer, oven/grill, hob, toaster, kettle and Tassimo coffee machine, as well as plenty of crockery and utensils. The dining table comfortably sits 8 and there is also a highchair should you need it. The snug room has a large smart TV, Netflix and DVDs and shelves of books for children,

A large sitting room to the left of the front door has a big log burner (all logs supplied), large TV with Freeview/Netflix etc, and a mountain of board games and puzzles to entertain you. From the sitting room or kitchen is a light corridor to a downstairs kingsize bedroom and shower room as well as a separate utility room with both a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board. There is also a further overflow fridge with a freezer shelf. Underfloor heating and oak floorboards throughout the ground floor make for a warm and relaxed feel.

Since The Recycled House underwent new ownership, the owners have made vast improvements to the garden. Designed and landscaped by Gold Medal winner, Jo Thompson.  It now has flora and fauna to complement its native environment. This beautiful garden also has a trampoline (with a net) to keep the children amused for hours, as well as a separate games room that has a full-size ping pong table. Connected to this room is a further reading room (with a full bookcase), which is a perfect place to retreat for a quiet read! If you are wanting to dine outside, there is modern garden furniture that sits under the oak pergola. You will also find a charcoal BBQ if you are wanting to cook up a storm after a day at the beach.
