The White House, Camber

The White House is a stunningly simple white weatherboarded oasis, set directly behind the dunes. The gate at the bottom of the garden allows quick access to the miles of sandy beach. So you’re safe in the knowledge that you don’t even have to cross the street…

Inside the property

On first entering this unassuming bungalow, you are instantly transported into a calm, beautiful home. With the feel of the beach and the soft tones of white and grey which permeate the weathered timber building, allowing an instant release from the moment you enter. Kicking off your shoes the house opens up onto an open plan living space, where double French doors and windows line the exterior of the property. Allowing streams of light to penetrate the rear.

The living space and dining room flow into a well equipped kitchen with a large Bertazzoni cooker/gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer all behind rustic handmade kitchen doors.  Sympathetically screened by sliding doors to the rear of the kitchen finds another cosy sitting room with a large smart TV, leather chairs and comfy sofa in a relaxed vintage vibe.

For those autumnal and wintery days the log burner allows you to enjoy the warmth of the cooler days , whilst enjoying the large open aspect this house exudes. The whole property allows for great flexibility for larger families – sliding doors, shutter doors and French doors ensure that if you want the little nooks to escape into or if you want to party you can throw open the areas to bring everyone together.

The bathroom features a roll top bath, loo and basin with antique tin panels adorning the walls.  The second bathroom has a shower, loo and basin.

Sleeping arrangements

Bedroom 1, is to the right on entering the property. It has a kingsize bed with a vintage mirrored bedhead, with bay window to the front of the house.

Bedroom 2, to the left on entering.  It has a kingsize bed with glazed vintage French doors that open up into the living area. Antique linen blinds for privacy. It also has a Smart TV.

Bedroom 3, hosts a handmade double bunk bed room, with two sets of bunk beds – 2’6″ mattresses – only for children.

Bedroom 4, at the back of the house. Has as a king size bed with an ensuite loo, French doors onto the garden and a Smart TV.

All linen and towels provided (except beach towels).

Outside The White House

Benefitting from its south facing garden, new garden furniture on a deck that stretches the length of the house, a hammock beckons between two beautiful apple trees, to while away an hour or two! There is also a table tennis table to enjoy as well as a charcoal BBQ to cook up a storm.

The White House offers a wonderful beach retreat – moments from the sand and a stones throw from the medieval town of Rye, the vineyards of Sussex and cultural and sporting attractions for all are within minutes – and just two hours from London, it offers year round escapism for a bit of R&R, and who doesn’t need that at the moment!

One dog is permissible at The White House – they won’t want to leave the expansive beach. Please add to the booking form.

Parking for 2 cars comfortably. There are parking bays on the road just outside the property but are not guaranteed.

A new EV charger has been installed for guests use. There is a fee for use during your stay.
