Chandlers Cabin

Overlooking the Royal Military Canal on the outskirts of Rye sits the effortlessly cool Chandlers Cabin. Where industrial city chic collides with the charms of rural escapism. The Cabin (sleeps two) and, if booked, The Studio (sleeps 3) are designed for the stylish traveller to explore the hidden gems of East Sussex and Kent.

Inside the property

Once through the gates, The Studio and The Cabin are to the right of the driveway (you share the drive with the owners).

The Cabin, the larger of the units, sleeps two in an Emperor sized bed. For the ultimate in comfort, there is also Siberian goose down duvet.  You will also find an ensuite bathroom with a shower over the bath with vibrant turquoise tiles against the weathered timber. The Cabin’s galley kitchen has an electric oven and hob, small fridge (no freezer), with microwave, and a Nespresso coffee machine.

There is an Echo Dot for sound, a 42″ smart TV with all the channels (not sky) for chilling after a day excursions are in each space.

The Studio (if booked) is accessed, via large doors opening up into a stylish and contemporary space, just though the main gate into the property. Designed with an eclectic feel, incorporating weathered timber, corrugated walls and Moroccan tiles. A sumptuous king-size bed with Egyptian cotton ensure a good nights sleep. An ensuite bathroom (shower/bath) with lots of storage, together with a small kitchenette with fridge and small freezer, hob, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine and a breakfast table for three make it an ideal bolthole.

Need more space?

The Studio has a sofa bed and can be used by children under 12 and comes with a linen charge, also bookable online.

Outside the property and local area

The garden area is a perfect spot to chill on sun loungers by the banks or enjoy a BBQ with gorgeous river views as you dine on the deck by The Cabin.  Your location couldn’t be more enviable; Rye is a hotbed of activity, with art-house cinema, boutiques and some fun festivals such as Rye Scallop Festival.  The fabulous Globe Inn Marsh pub is a minute on foot and the beaches of Camber and Winchelsea are just a short drive away.

2 dogs welcome at £30 per dog per stay.

Parking for 2 cars.

Chandlers Cabin and Studio are not interconnected and therefore not wholly suitable for a family with young children, ideally suiting two couples.  The main house to the left of the entrance is private and does not impinge on your space but you do share the driveway.
