Activities in the area

There are plenty of activities in the area to spend sporty days. Kayaking, paddleboarding and kitesurfing just to name a few, but there are plenty of other activities as well.

For a stretch try one of the classes at The Elysian Centre in Rye, a multidisciplinary practice of holistic healing with a wide range of classes.

Watersports

Rye Watersports – based within a safe secluded coastal lake, this family run watersports company offer a host of activities – kite surfing, sailing courses, kayaking, windsurfing, and paddle boarding. Great courses for adults and children and ways to spend a sporty day. The Hoolie Cafe keeps the wolf from the door after an energetic blast on the water!

To take it out onto the sea The Kite Surf Centre, offering Kitesurfing, Kite buggy, kite land board and stand up paddleboards, based on the beach Camber it is the perfect spot – give them a call to check out the tides and the winds.  Camber Kitesurfing also offer a great time and encouragement for the beginner.

For the adrenaline junkie, Flyboarding, Water skiing, Wakeboarding, jet skiing can be found 10 minutes away at Action Watersports a great centre for all things wet just down the road in Lydd.  There is also an inflatable obstacle course which runs throughout the summer and a whole heap of fun!

Swimming – apart from braving the sea, Rye has a great public 25m pool,  Rye Leisure Centre  plus many other keep fit and workout classes.

Horse riding, Tennis, Cycling and Walks

Grove Farm Riding School – ten minutes from Camber, hacks and lessons available in the village of Iden.

Tennis – the very best of grass courts at Rye Lawn Tennis Club in summer and three astro courts, but beware you have to wear whites on the grass courts.

Cycling – In Camber E-Bike Hire, bikes with curb appeal, have both electric and mountain bikes for hire – they come with helmets and load of suggested routes!  Alternatively Rye Bay E-bikes from Rye or  Rye Hire bikes  – they can also arrange delivery to the properties to meet your arrival.

Go-karting – Kents premier karting track just down the road in Lydd.

Walking along the coast or on the Marsh – Walks in Sussex  or 1066 country maps and suggested routes.
